New River Valley Planning District Commission - REGIONAL PLANNER
This position supports the economic and community development planning program of a regional planning agency that serves 12 governments and two universities in the New River Valley of Virginia. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of economic planning, community development, data collection, data analysis and experience working with a regional planning agency, economic development district or local government. The candidate will be responsible for initiating and leading planning studies, preparing publications, conducting public meetings, preparing grant applications and assisting in a regional revolving loan program. The candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills along with presentation skills. A Master’s Degree in planning, public administration, economics, geography or closely related field plus a minimum of two years of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree and four years of planning experience is preferred.
Salary Range $32,000 to $42,000. Excellent benefits package.
