Tuesdays at APA | DC
November 6, 2012 @ 5:30pm
Sustainable DC Plan
Speaker: Peter Dougherty | Senior Associate, Ayers Saint Gross
The strategic sustainability planning studio of Ayers Saint Gross is collaborating with the Office of Mayor Vincent Gray, the DC Office of Planning (OP), the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), a team of leading consultants, and numerous interested citizens and resident experts, to make Washington DC the healthiest, greenest and most livable city in the United States.
In April 2012, this team released “A Vision for a Sustainable DC,” the initial public draft of the District’s coordinated environmental, social and economic goals for 2032. Since then, it has been working to develop the specifics of this Vision, and to craft a deeper and more specific plan. Peter Dougherty of Ayers Saint Gross will discuss this project and process in the context of Washington DC and the emerging practice of strategic sustainability planning.
