Job Oppty: UCI Faculty Position in Planning, Policy and Design

Assistant Professor of Public Policy

The Department of Planning, Policy and Design at the University of California, Irvine invites applications from exceptional scholars for a tenure-track, assistant professor position. The successful candidate must have a strong research profile in public policy related fields and be able to teach core courses in the newly established Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree. Of particular interest are candidates who can teach the following core courses: Policy Processes & Institutions of Governance, Collaborative Governance & Public Management, Policy & Ethics.

A Ph.D. in a policy-relevant field, including public policy, public administration, urban planning, political science, anthropology, economics, sociology, or related disciplines, is required. As the MPP is a high-profile collaboration bridging multiple campus units, there will be considerable interface with other departments, particularly in the School of Social Sciences.

The Department of Planning, Policy and Design lies within the multi-disciplinary School of Social Ecology and has 17 full-time faculty members. In addition to the MPP, the department also offers an undergraduate major in Urban Studies, a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree and a Ph.D. in Planning, Policy and Design.
