China Summer Program

Major Activities:

  • Joint design studio with faculty and students from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Huazhong University of Science and Technology;
  • Joint planning case study with faculty and students from Wuhan University of Technology;
  • Site visit at Shanghai: the Maglev system, Shanghai Urban Planning Museum, the Bund, Pudong new development area, planning for the 2010 International Expo, Metro and light rail system;
  • Field trip to Suzhou, the garden city in China, which offers special interests to planners and landscape architect;
  • Experience the high speed rail from Wuhan to Changsha;
  • Site visit at Beijing: Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Great Wall, TianAnMen Square, Olympic site, and historic preservation in central city;
  • Participate in the International Association for China Planning Conference at Renmin University.

The deadline for the application is March 7th. There are also scholarship available, ranging from $500-1000. If some students are interested in applying, please ask them to apply by Friday March 4th.
