New Smart Growth America Resources

Smart Growth America recently relaunched our website, http://www.smartgrowthamerica.org, and it offers an abundance of resources for urban planning students. Our State and Regional Policy Guide provides extensive state policy recommendations, in areas such as Housing and Transportation. Our Recent Research section provides numerous reports that are available for free download. For example, Recent Lessons from the Stimulus: Transportation Funding and Job Creation, released this month, discusses how states spent their flexible transportation funds from the 2009 stimulus, and specifically looks at which states were more successful (or less successful) in creating jobs out of those funds. It also provides recommendations for how to maximize jobs, reduce costs and prepare for long-term economic growth using transportation dollars.

Also on the site is our blog with the latest news about smart growth across the country. If you or your students want to connect with fellow sustainable planning advocates, you can become a fan of SGA on Facebook or follow us on Twitter, too.
