LISA Program Resources for VT Faculty, Staff, Students

LISA (Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis) offers free statistical collaboration meetings for personalized statistical advice and assistance. We encourage all interested Virginia Tech researchers to visit our website to request such a meeting (www.lisa.stat.vt.edu).

We also offer short courses designed to help graduate students use statistics in their research. Our Fall 2011 schedule for LISA Short Courses is posted and is open for registration (www.lisa.stat.vt.edu/?q=short_courses). All Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students are invited to our short courses. LISA Short Courses begin September 6.

We have developed a slide for professors to show to graduate students in their classes for a quick overview of our Collaboration service. Attached is a pdf version of this slide. PowerPoint and Keynote versions to insert into class lectures are available for download on our website (www.lisa.stat.vt.edu/?q=about_us).

Walk-In Consulting is available everyday from 1-3 pm in 401 Hutcheson Hall for questions requiring less than 30 minutes of assistance. This semester we will also be offering Walk-In Consulting in the GLC Video Conference Room on Wednesdays from 1-3 pm. Please see our website for additional information (www.lisa.stat.vt.edu/?q=walk_in).

LISA’s mission is to provide statistical advice, analysis, and education to Virginia Tech researchers by offering individual collaboration meetings, walk-in consulting, educational short courses, and support for interdisciplinary research projects. All LISA services are free for Virginia Tech researchers.

Please see our website (www.lisa.stat.vt.edu) for more information about our services and feel free to contact LISA@vt.edu if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a wonderful semester.
